Township of Ignace
The Township of Ignace located in the heart of Northwestern Ontario's Sunset Country in the District of Kenora (population approximately 1400) situated on Agimak Lake, hosts the busy junction of the TransCanada Highway and Highway 599 and is the halfway point between Kenora and Thunder Bay.
Snow Motion Winter Dog Sports Club of Manitoba
Snow Motion has approximately 65 people in it, who skijor behind 1 to 3 dogs, and kick sled behind 1 to 3 dogs. They all live in the Winnipeg area, and use their pet dogs. Co-coordinators Susie Strachan and Karen Armstrong have taught around 500 people to do these 2 sports, since Snow Motion was founded 10 years ago. Since then, they've become the "house" dog club at the Windsor Park Nordic Centre in Winnipeg, where they run on Friday nights and Sunday mornings. They also get together for out-of-town runs, workshops, pot luck poker derbies, and more fun events. On the February long weekend, they will host their second annual Snow Motion Classic, which is a race with pro, trophy and novice classes for skijoring and kick sledding. In October they host a Wheel Dogs Challenge.
