Ignace, Ontario Winter Activities

Dog Sledding
Dog sleddingDog sledding has become an increasingly popular winter adventure.  Our dog sled company called Run Silent Dog Sled Trips began about 10 years ago in Ely, Minnesota. Past guests have repeatedly expressed appreciation for the unforgettable adventure provided by our caring guides on the dog sled trips. John and Joanna have many years experience in winter survival, dog training and mushing. Moving to Ignace, Ontario allows them to run the dogs right from the resort and offers a multitude of trails to follow.

The breathtaking beauty of the winter wonderland, the excitement of several teams of dogs lurching and barking to take off, and the thrill of driving your own sled down the trail all combine to make an adventure of a lifetime. You can view our Run Silent Dog Sled website at www.runsilent.com.

Snowmobiling
SnowmobilingWinter is a great time to explore Ontario by snowmobile when the snow flies and the lakes freeze over. You are able to experience parts of the province that are usually only accessible by air or water. Some of the trails are so wide they are called "snow highways". Amazingly, Ontario has over 30,000 miles of interconnected, groomed trails forming the largest trail system in the world.

The snowmobile trail runs right by Agimac River Outfitters making it easy to access.  There are many secluded logging roads to check out as well.

See details about lodging below in Ice Fishing.

Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is popular via snowmobile in our area. Walleye, Lake Trout and Northern Pike are some winter favorites in Indian Lake and other nearby lakes.

We are winterizing several cabins to accommodate those who are visiting here for dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. The price of lodging for those who are not taking a dog sled trip is $45/person/night.  Minimum of two.
